Hi! My name is Priscilla and I am the crochet designer behind The Mother Lode AKA @motherlodecrafts ! One of the reasons I love crochet is because it’s accessible for me to do while managing my home: I have 4 children! Learning this craft has helped me tremendously in my path as a mother as so many of the tasks of motherhood are unending: the laundry, dishes, snack making; but when I make something amazing with yarn, it stays finished and gives the sense of accomplishment that my brain craves! I’ve always been a creative. My grandmother often told me as I was growing up, “Prissy, you should have a shop!” and after learning to crochet from my mom (and the internet) in 2014, I started designing patterns in 2020!
Nearly all of my patterns are free to use right here on the blog. You can also find my patterns PDF files for sale on Etsy, Ravelry, and LoveCrafts. It brings me great joy and pride to write these patterns! I typically design winter accessories for the entire family like hats, scarves, and cowls. I love the cooler weather we get in beautiful Pennsylvania where I live. Creating patterns with worsted and bulky weight yarn means they work up quickly, keep us warm, and allow me to make pieces for everyone in my large family. I sometimes design more feminine pieces like headbands, scrunchies, and earrings with crochet thread, as well! If you like making those types of patterns, consider joining my email list!
